  • Some essential oils are not recommended for use during pregnancy, nursing, or if you have certain medical concerns. Please consult an appropriate practitioner before using any essential oil products during pregnancy or if you have any medical history of seizures, heart disease, lung disease, etc.
  • Use extreme caution when using any candle product. Avoid burning near drafts, and keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • With all body products it is recommended to do a patch test before general use. Apply a small amount to a 1″x1″ area of skin and wait 24 hours to ensure no reaction will take place.
  • For the best performance out of your candles, it is important to keep the wick trimmed. Most candles burn best with a wick of 1/4″ to 1/3″. If the wick becomes too long, you may notice the flame flickering, or soot coming from the wick. Extinguish flame, and trim wick with sharp scissors. Remove all wick debris from the melt pool and relight candle. Letting your wick stay too long will greatly decrease the burn time of your candle.
  • Candles develop “memory” from their first burn. The first time you burn your candle you should let it burn until the wax is just nearly to the edge for pillar candles, and completely to the edge for container candles. Soy wax burns much cooler and slower than paraffin candles, so this can take about an hour for votives, and as long as 3 - 4 hours for some of the larger container candles.
  • Because of the low melt temperature of soy wax and the body products we advise against shipping in extremely hot climates. If your shipment arrives partially melted, place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and then check to see if it has reset. It is not recommended to put it in the freezer because extreme temperature changes can cause soy wax to crack. Melting will not effect the quality of your product, just its cosmetic appearance.
  • Most containers can be cleaned easily when the candle has burned to completion. If most of the wax is gone, wash the holder out with soap and hot water. If you cannot remove all of the wax with washing, place holder on a cookie sheet and place in a 180 degree Fahrenheit oven for a few minutes. Remove carefully and wipe clean with paper towels.
  • We avoid using dyes in most of our candles (you might see color pop up in some special edition products) but the difference in fragrance oils and essential oils can cause some variation of the color of the soy wax. Color change can also happen over time when products are exposed to UV rays via natural or artificial light. There are additives that can be mixed with the wax to prevent this, but I do not feel that they constitute trying to keep the final product as natural as possible, so I do not use them.
